This is course will give you a basic introduction to the skills and knowledge you need for thinking about setting up your own business and understanding self-employment. You will develop an awareness of the opportunities available to you, the skills and behaviours you need to be successful, the practicalities of being self-employed and the support that is available to you. You will also consider sources of income and types of expenditure, and associated record keeping.

Entry Requirements
We recommend you are working at Entry level 3 or above in English and maths.

Who is the course for?
This qualification is ideal for you if you have little or no experience of self-employment or starting your own business. It is also suitable if you already run your own small business but would like to develop your knowledge and understanding.

The course will give you an introduction to starting a business and help you to increase your knowledge and confidence in this.
